Early years in his business, Mark graded numerous jobs with his old tractor and box blade and several rental bulldozers.  In 2005, he bought his Caterpillar D3 Dozer.

Mark has expanded his business successfully over the years with various pieces of equipment.  Today,  he primarily operates his Komatsu 120 Excavator, Cat Dozer, and Jubilee tractor in most jobs.

Vaughan's Excavating and Grading, Inc is a small business owned and operated by Mark Vaughan.  Mark started his business in 2002 where he turned a desire into a reality.  Mark's experience with large equipment and hydraulics started as a kid working on his Dad's, the late Eddie Vaughan, farm in rural Virginia Beach.

Mark bought his first excavator in 2001, took it to the farm, and began teaching himself how to use it.  Digging ditches, improving drainage in various farm fields, and building his first impoundment allowed him to realize his potential to help others improve their land.
Mark has a gift in sculpting land and establishing drainage in low lying areas.  A sampling of his various work is posted throughout the site.

Another piece of equipment Mark uses on numerous jobs is his track dump.  This piece of machinery has proved very valuable in wet and low-lying areas allowing transport of material on job sites.
Agricultural, Commercial, Residential
2012 has brought along the addition of a Ford Jubilee tractor complete with several landscaping implements.
Above is an aerator and below is a pulverizer, of which both help with soil preparation.  An aerator provides a means for excellent seed to soil contact and improves water percolation.  A pulverizer breaks and removes clumps as it rotates, and levels soil.  The use of both implements will help achieve a better stand of what has been planted.
A box blade is a necessity for fine tuning grading on smaller job sites.  A bush hog is another staple, much needed on the farm in addition to jobs.
